Thinking of the songs you loved mum... During March 2013 I helped Valerie obtain access to many pop songs she liked but did not have available, and so I sourced them for her. All the songs I have downloaded to this site were the product of that, and which I put onto a CD for her. Valerie would often dance around in the kitchen to the faster songs and I remember her saying she would put it on in the front room (where her music centre was) whilst ironing. So these are not necessarily all of Valerie's favourite songs, but those she did not have ready access to. I recall Albatross being a firm favourite, and she loved Over the Rainbow generally but specifically asked me to obtain the version by The Newtons.  One of Valerie's favourite (more) modern artists was Michael Bolton. We (Amanda, Gary and I) were fortunate enough to be able to take Valerie to see Michael Bolton at the Royal Albert Hall for her 80th birthday, on the 22nd May 2014. That is a lovely memory because what are the chances of being able to see one of your favourite American pop artist at the Royal Albert Hall, on your 80th birthday! Valerie's music uploaded is: - Everything I do (Bryan Adams) - Albatross (Fleetwood Mac) - Here Comes that Feeling (Brenda Lee) - Cherish (Cool & the Gang) - Lets Dance (Chris Montez) - For the Good Times (Perry Como) - I Want to Know What Love Is (Foreigner) - If you Don't Know me By Now (Simply Red) - It Takes Two (Marvin Gaye & Kim Western) - One Day at a Time (Western Lena Martel) - The Locomotion (Little Eva)- Dancing in the Street (Martha & The Vandellas) - Sweet Little Sixteen (Michael Cox - Joe Meek) - The Very Thought of You (Nat King Cole) - Over the Rainbow (The Newtons) - Your in my Heart (Rod Stewart) - If I Could Turn Back the Hands of Time (R. Kelly) - She was Only Sixteen (Sam Cooke)- Holding back the Years (Simply Red) - Tunnel of Love (Dire Straits) - Walk of Life (Dire Straits) Unfortunately I could not paste this text into the song information section and so this will have to stand by itself.
